Job summary

SYNBONE, a Swiss medical education company with a Malaysia branch in Kulai, seeks a Mechanical/System Engineer to drive product development and tooling. You will manage schedules, design advanced moulds and surgical training models, and collaborate with production and management teams.

You will apply 3D design tools, reverse engineering, and 3D printing to deliver innovative educational models, while traveling for training when needed. Bahasa Malaysia and English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Master or Bachelor in Mechanical/System Engineering or similar fields.
• 3+ years of experience in Product Development/Management.
• 3+ years with 3D design software (Geomagic Freeform/Wrap, Design X, UG, Autodesk Inventor, Rhino, SolidWorks).
• Experience in production moulds for polyurethane is an advantage.
• Experience with 3D scanners and 3D printers (FDM, SLA, SLS) is an advantage.
• Project management experience, well organized, targets-focused.
• Technical, creative, analytical thinker, hands-on.
• Willing to travel for training or job purposes if required.
• Fluency in Bahasa Malaysia & English; strong communication & interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Design and develop medical education models using 3D tools; coordinate with production and management.

Responsibilities

To develop products, mold, jig/fixtures based on requirements defined.

To manage products development schedule and follow up.

To improve current products, mold & jig/fixtures based on latest findings.

To support Production on all technical and products related tasks.

Qualifications & Skills

Master or Bachelor of Mechanical/System Engineering or similar relevant fields of study

3+ years of experience in Product Development/Management.

3+ years of experience with 3D design software, reverse engineering tools, e.g., Geomagic Freeform/Wrap, Design X, UG, Autodesk Inventor, Rhinoceros, SolidWorks.

Experience in engineering of production moulds in the field of polyurethane is added advantage.

Experience in using 3D scanners and 3D printers as FDM and SLA & SLSF is added advantage.

Project management experience, well organized, commitment to reach ambitious targets

Technical affinity and creative with a sense for innovative solutions, analytical thinking, open-minded, hands‑on

Willingness to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Willing to travel for training or job purposes if required.

Good command of spoken and written Bahasa Malaysia & English

Manage projects and design new task trainers, skill stations and bone models for surgical training with 3D software tools

Contact with technicians and engineers to ensure that the products meet the requirements

Contribute and advance your own design ideas to realize outstanding products.

Close cooperation with product management team, customer services and production.

Design and develop new products like medical education task trainer, models, holder systems and accessories

Product design, development and visualization using multiple state of the art 3D tools software/scanner/printer

Be involved in project meetings and project requirement definitions, also take over project lead.

Manage projects from initial phase until transfer to production and rollout incl. project controlling

Coordinate tasks to produce prototypes, small series, custom‑made models

Document projects and transfer to production with BOM, instructions for assembling and quality control.

Investigate and manage suppliers and partners where needed

Workplace & General Responsibilities:

Follow 5S, safety, and health regulations to maintain a safe, organized workplace.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.

Provide yearly department budget and planning, costs tracing.

Respond to ad-hoc tasks or requests from superiors while maintaining quality standards.
