Job summary

Maxis Broadband Sdn Bhd is seeking a senior leader to define and execute the network and cloud infrastructure strategy in Malaysia. The role oversees architecture for network, compute, storage and cloud, and drives modernization efforts from on‑prem to cloud and hybrid models.

You will collaborate with cybersecurity and application teams to ensure secure, scalable and reliable infrastructure while managing budgets, SLAs and operational KPIs in a dynamic telecom environment.

1. Strategy, Architecture & Planning:

• Define and execute the network and cloud infrastructure strategy, aligned with IT and business roadmaps
• Lead infrastructure architecture, including network, compute, storage, cloud, and connectivity standards
• Oversee capacity planning, demand forecasting, and technology lifecycle management
• Drive migration and modernization initiatives (on‑prem → cloud, hybrid, multi‑cloud)
• Partner with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and application teams to ensure cohesive solutions

2. Network, Cloud & Infrastructure Operations:

• Ensure high availability, performance, and resilience of network and cloud platforms
• Oversee operations of:
  • LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, Wi‑Fi, Internet, and telecom services
  • Data center and hosting platforms
  • Public cloud (e.g. Azure, AWS, GCP) and private cloud environments
• Establish and manage 24x7 operational support, incident, problem, and change management
• Own infrastructure uptime, performance SLAs, and operational KPIs
• Work closely with cybersecurity teams to embed security‑by‑design
• Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
• Ensure periodic assessment of vulnerability and timely vulnerability remediation
• Lead infrastructure aspects of disaster recovery, business continuity, and resilience testing
• Manage third‑party risks related to infrastructure providers and service partners
• Own infrastructure budgets, forecasting, annual operating plan (AOP) derivation and cost optimization (FinOps)
• Drive cost transparency, chargeback/showback where applicable
• Manage strategic relationships with cloud providers, telcos, and system integrators
• Lead sourcing strategy derivation, contract negotiations, performance management of vendors
• Own infrastructure budgets, forecasting, annual operating plan (AOP) derivation and cost optimization (FinOps)
• Drive cost transparency, chargeback/showback where applicable
• Manage strategic relationships with cloud providers, telcos, and system integrators
• Lead sourcing strategy derivation, contract negotiations, performance management of vendors
