Job summary

Qualifications

• 15–20 years experience in semiconductor manufacturing / OSAT / backend operations in a high-volume environment.
• Minimum 8–10 years in a senior leadership or management role.
• Proven track record managing FOL & EOL assembly operations, large manufacturing teams and multiple production lines.
• Strong experience in high-mix, high-volume production and meeting global customer requirements.
• Demonstrated ownership, initiative and execution, with a strong presence on the production floor.
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
• Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end assembly operations (FOL & EOL) ensuring safety, quality, output, cycle-time and cost targets.
• Drive operational excellence, yield improvement and productivity across multiple high-volume lines.
• Own the assembly operations budget – manpower, materials and manufacturing cost.
• Lead capacity planning and production ramp-up to meet aggressive growth and customer demand.
• Take direct ownership of customer escalations, driving closure with strong floor engagement and clear communication to management.
• Coach, mentor and develop senior managers and their teams, building leadership capability and succession strength.
• Champion continuous improvement, automation and Lean / Six Sigma initiatives.
• Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Planning and Supply Chain.

Carsem, a member of Malaysian Pacific Industries and part of Hong Leong Manufacturing Group, is seeking an experienced, hands-on Head of Assembly Operations to lead our semiconductor backend assembly operations through a major capacity expansion and production ramp.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will hold full operational leadership of the site's Front of Line (FOL) and End of Line (EOL) assembly operations - driving output, quality, cost and delivery, while building and developing a high-performing leadership team.

This is a critical role for a results-driven leader who leads from the production floor, takes full ownership of performance, and thrives in a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
