Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management or related field.
• Significant senior production management experience in large-scale manufacturing.
• Experience in battery, solar, semiconductor or high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily production operations across the factory floor with large teams.
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production plans.
• Drive SOPs, OEE targets, lean manufacturing, and 5S across lines.
• Own workplace safety, compliance, and continuous efficiency initiatives.
• Establish formal policies and communication norms for team cohesion.
• Lead root cause analysis and drive corrective actions.
• Make quick on-the-spot decisions to resolve issues and crises.
• Develop a large, multicultural production team and foster inclusive culture.

Position: Senior Production Manager (Manufacturing)

Location: Selangor

The Opportunity

We are partnering with a leading, large-scale manufacturing organization to find a Senior Production Manager for a site and scaling for expansion. This role offers ownership of large-scale production operations, senior team leadership, and a mandate to build genuine cohesion across a large, culturally diverse workforce. Candidates with experience in high-volume environments strongly preferred — battery, solar, semiconductor, or other high-tech manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct daily production operations across the factory floor, up to 10 direct reports and approximately 1,000 indirect reports
• Coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials against production plans to hit quality and quantity targets
• Drive adherence to production SOPs, OEE targets, lean manufacturing principles, and 5S standards across all lines
• Own workplace safety control, compliance, and continuous efficiency improvement initiatives
• Establish clear, formalized policies and communication norms, building long-term team cohesion
• Lead root cause analysis for production issues and drive corrective and preventive actions
• Make fast, sound on-the-spot decisions to resolve production issues and on-site crises
• Lead, motivate, and develop a large, multicultural production team, fostering a positive and inclusive team culture

Job Requirements

• Degree holder in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Management, or a related field
• Significant experience in a senior production management role within a large-scale manufacturing environment, leading large and culturally diverse workforces
• Experience in battery, solar, semiconductor, or other high-volume manufacturing industries strongly preferred
• Strong shop-floor operations knowledge, with hands-on understanding of equipment and production processes
• Proven track record in production SOPs, OEE, lean manufacturing, and 5S implementation
• Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate and unite large teams
• Hands-on, execution-focused mindset with strong on-spot decision-making and crisis-management ability
• Bilingual — Malay & Chinese (Mandarin) required, to achieve effective communication
• Strong cross-cultural communication skills and the ability to formalize management practices into consistent, structured policy
• Self-driven, resilient, and capable of operating under pressure in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
