Job summary

Park Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Head Mixologist to lead the bar's beverage program in line with Hyatt's brand standards. You will drive innovation through creation of unique cocktails and experiences, ensuring exceptional beverage quality and guest service in a luxury hotel setting.

You will oversee cocktail development, manage inventory, control costs, and mentor the bar team while upholding health, safety and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• University degree/diploma in Hospitality/Tourism Management, Food & Beverage or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in bar operations with at least 2 years in a senior mixology or beverage leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, wines, cocktails and responsible alcohol service.
• Experience in cocktail menu development, beverage costing, inventory management and driving beverage revenue.
• Professional beverage certifications such as WSET are an advantage.

Job description

You will be responsible for leading the bar's beverage program in line with Hyatt International's Corporate Strategies and brand standards, while meeting the expectations of associates and guests. The Head Mixologist will drive innovation through the creation of unique cocktail and beverage experiences, maintain exceptional beverage quality and presentation standards, and ensure outstanding guest service. The role includes overseeing cocktail development, beverage training, inventory management, cost control, and fostering a culture of creativity and excellence within the bar team, while ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Due to work permit restrictions, this position is only open for Malaysian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Malaysia.
• Ideally with a university degree/diploma in Hospitality/Tourism Management, Food & Beverage, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in bar operations, with at least 2 years in a senior mixology, bar leadership, or beverage development role within a luxury hotel, upscale restaurant, or premium cocktail bar.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, wines, cocktails, mixology techniques, beverage trends, and responsible alcohol service.
• Proven experience in cocktail menu development, beverage costing, inventory management, and driving beverage revenue.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage guests, train team members, and collaborate effectively with operational teams.
• Creative, detail-oriented, and passionate about delivering innovative beverage experiences while maintaining Hyatt brand standards.
• Professional beverage certifications such as WSET or equivalent mixology qualifications will be an advantage.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
