Misc Group in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Senior Commercial Lead to drive FPSO opportunity evaluation, pricing and business economics monitoring. You will design robust models, deliver commercial recommendations and establish reusable standards to support informed bid, negotiation and post-award decisions.
You will lead two Commercial Analysts, coordinate with Legal, Tax and Finance, ensuring governance and protecting returns across contracts.
Lead commercial evaluation, pricing and business economics monitoring for the FPSO business, and serve as the Commercial Centre of Excellence. Provide robust models, commercial recommendations and reusable standards to support informed opportunity, bid, negotiation and post-award decisions, protect company interests and sustain business returns throughout the contract lifecycle.
Lead preliminary and detailed commercial evaluation of FPSO opportunities. Integrate technical scope, eligibility, resource availability, execution risk, payment and contract terms, financial viability and country conditions into timely recommendations to the Director and approving authority. Support BD qualification and pursuit prioritisation; elevate material gaps before bid resources are committed.
Own the development, validation and control of opportunity financial models. Integrate approved capital and operating cost estimates, charter revenue, schedule, tax, financing and other specialist assumptions; assess cash flow, returns and sensitivities. Recommend pricing structures and negotiation parameters consistent with required returns and risk appetite.
Provide Bid Management with validated commercial inputs, pricing schedules and risk assessments within the bid timetable. Support BD-led negotiations by evaluating proposed terms, alternative structures and concessions. Maintain traceability between the approved price, model and submitted terms; obtain reapproval where changes exceed approved parameters.
Maintain the approved economic baseline after award and oversee model updates using validated actuals and forecasts. Assess deviations from original assumptions and the impact of variations, claims, extensions, refinancing or other proposed commercial decisions. Recommend actions to protect returns and elevate material exposure; coordinate with the accountable contract and asset teams.
Assess the economic implications of liability allocation, performance guarantees, payment mechanisms, termination provisions and other commercial terms. Work with Legal, Tax, Finance and country teams on regulatory, local-content and entity requirements; recommend mitigations and document residual risks for approval.
Establish and maintain standard financial models, evaluation methodologies, commercial and pricing templates, guidance and contract frameworks with Legal. Govern assumptions, version control and departures from standards. Capture lessons learned and provide specialist advice and knowledge sharing across opportunities and contracts.
Ensure analyses and approval papers are accurate, reviewable and submitted in time for decisions. Maintain an audit trail of assumptions, approvals, model revisions and commercial commitments. Present recommendations through the Director and exercise authority only within the applicable delegation.
Lead two Commercial Analysts, allocate work across opportunities and operating contracts, review outputs and develop modelling and commercial capability. Maintain productive multidisciplinary relationships, protect confidential client information and comply with applicable ethics, QHSE and business controls.
15 years of relevant experience in commercial evaluation, financial modelling, pricing or contracts within offshore oil and gas, FPSO or other capital-intensive infrastructure businesses, including at least five years leading teams or complex commercial workstreams.
Demonstrated experience across FPSO bidding, negotiations and post-award economics; experience across multiple project or charter lifecycles is preferred.
Major EPCIC project exposure is advantageous; the core requirement is commercial leadership and evaluation capability.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering or another relevant discipline.
A master’s degree, MBA or relevant professional qualification such as CFA, ACCA or CIMA is an advantage.
