Job summary

Millennium Technology Services in Johor Bahru, Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Network Engineer to support data centre operations. You will work on-site with switches, fibre/copper cabling and patch panels, performing Layer 2/3 configuration, troubleshooting and patching tasks.

The role emphasizes both network configuration and physical infrastructure work within a data centre, with after-hours support as needed. A minimum of 3 years in enterprise or data centre networks is expected.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years hands-on networking experience.
Experience supporting enterprise or data centre networks.
Good knowledge of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, trunking, STP and L2/L3 troubleshooting.
Hands-on fibre/copper patching experience preferred.
CCNA/JNCIA/HCIA or equivalent certification is advantageous.
Comfortable with physical data centre work on-site in Johor Bahru.

Responsibilities

Configure, troubleshoot and support Layer 2/3 network infrastructure.
Support switches and routers with VLAN, trunking, STP, LAG/LACP, IP addressing and subnetting.
Troubleshoot connectivity across logical and physical networks.
Perform fibre and copper patching between switches, servers, racks and patch panels.
Install, troubleshoot SFP/SFP+ transceivers and network connectivity.
Maintain network diagrams, port mappings and documentation.
Coordinate with data centre teams during incidents and planned activities.
Follow change-management and safety procedures.
