Job summary

Reboot Monkey is hiring a Data Center Technician in Johor, Malaysia to join our on-site team. This full-time role covers installation, configuration, and maintenance of server and network equipment within a world-class data center facility.

The position requires 3+ years in data center operations, strong cabling skills (Cat6/6a, OM3/OS2 fiber), and the ability to lift 50+ lbs in a demanding environment. DCIM and ITIL familiarity is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years data center operations experience.
• Strong cabling skills with Cat6/6a and fiber (OM3/OM4/OS2).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in demanding environments.
• Experience with rack and stack and power/UPS basics.
• Familiarity with ITIL practices and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment.
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic).
• Deploy and decommission hardware.
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security).
• Respond to incidents and troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain accurate documentation and asset tracking.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams.
• Participate in capacity planning and upgrades.

Work Schedule

• Standard business hours with on-call rotation
• Shift differentials for nights/weekends when applicable

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain server and network equipment
• Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber optic)
• Execute hardware deployments and decommissions
• Monitor environmental systems (power, cooling, security)
