Nasty Cookie Pte Ltd is seeking a hands-on Halal Executive to oversee day-to-day halal compliance in Pasir Gudang, Johor. You will maintain the Halal Assurance System, verify supplier documentation, and coordinate with internal departments to ensure audit readiness.
The role requires 3–5 years in halal/QC, a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong documentation skills to support JAKIM audits and halal certification processes.

The Halal Executive is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s Halal compliance and Halal Assurance System (HAS) to ensure all products, raw materials, processes, suppliers, and documentation comply with JAKIM and relevant halal requirements.
The position requires a hands-on individual who can independently manage the company’s day-to-day halal activities, maintain proper documentation, coordinate with internal departments and suppliers, and ensure the company is always prepared for halal monitoring and audits.

The position requires a hands-on individual who can independently manage the company’s day-to-day halal activities, maintain proper documentation, coordinate with internal departments and suppliers, and ensure the company is always prepared for halal monitoring and audits.
Manage and maintain the company’s Halal Assurance System (HAS) in accordance with JAKIM requirements and applicable halal standards.
Ensure all raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, suppliers, and production processes comply with halal requirements.
Review and verify Halal Certificates, product specifications, ingredient lists, declarations, and supporting documents from suppliers.
Monitor the validity and expiry dates of Halal Certificates and related supplier documents and ensure timely renewal or follow-up.
Maintain and update the company’s Halal documentation, records, registers, and supporting evidence.
Coordinate with Procurement to ensure new suppliers and raw materials undergo the required halal verification before purchase and use.
Work closely with Production, Warehouse, QA/QC, R&D, Procurement, and Management on halal-related matters.
Conduct regular Halal internal audits, inspections, and monitoring activities to ensure compliance with established procedures.
Identify, investigate, and follow up on any halal non-conformities or potential halal risks and recommend corrective actions.
Prepare and maintain documentation required for JAKIM halal applications, renewals, audits, inspections, and monitoring.
Coordinate and assist during JAKIM / Halal authority audits and inspections, including preparation of required documents and records.
Ensure proper control and segregation of halal materials, non-halal materials, storage areas, production processes, and equipment, where applicable.
Monitor changes in halal requirements, standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements and communicate relevant updates to Management and relevant departments.
Organise and conduct Halal Awareness Training and halal-related briefings for employees as required.
Maintain records of Halal training, internal audits, corrective actions, supplier verification, and halal monitoring activities.
Assist R&D and Production in reviewing new products, formulations, ingredients, and processes from a halal compliance perspective.
Ensure halal-related complaints or issues are properly investigated, documented, and resolved.
Prepare regular Halal compliance reports and updates for Management.
Ensure all Halal activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, JAKIM requirements, applicable Malaysian halal standards, and relevant regulations.
Perform any other halal-related duties assigned by Management.
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in Halal, Food Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, or related fields.
Experience in Food Manufacturing / FMCG is highly preferred.
Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Halal Management, Islamic's Studies, Food Science, Food Technology, Quality Management, or a related field.
Halal Executive / Halal Professional certification will be an advantage.
Good knowledge and understanding of JAKIM halal requirements, Halal Assurance System (HAS), and halal certification processes.
Experience in preparing and maintaining halal documentation and audit records.
Experience dealing with JAKIM / State Religious Department (JAIN/MAIN) halal audits or inspections will be an advantage.
Good understanding of food ingredients, raw materials, manufacturing processes, and supplier halal documentation.
Strong attention to detail and good documentation skills.
Good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Proactive, organised, responsible, and able to manage multiple halal-related tasks.
Male's candidates are preferred.
Willing to work in Pasir Gudang, Johor.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role with no direct reports. The successful candidate is expected to independently manage the company’s day-to-day halal compliance activities, maintain accurate halal documentation, monitor raw materials and suppliers, coordinate internal halal requirements, and ensure the company remains audit-ready and compliant with JAKIM requirements.
