Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience operating surface, cylindrical, or precision grinding machines.
• Proficient in using precision measuring tools and surface finish gauges.
• Able to read engineering drawings and work independently with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate grinding machines to achieve fine surface finishes and tight dimensional tolerances as specified in drawings.
• Select and dress grinding wheels based on material type and required finish.
• Adjust feed rate, wheel speed, and depth of cut to avoid overheating, burning, or surface defects on workpieces.
• Perform in-process inspection using micrometers, surface roughness gauges, and other precision instruments to verify finish and tolerance compliance.
• Monitor coolant flow and wheel condition throughout the grinding process to maintain consistent quality.
• Report machine malfunctions, abnormal vibration, or wheel damage to your direct superior immediately.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping, including wheel balancing checks and coolant system upkeep.
• Review drawings and work instructions to understand surface finish and tolerance requirements before starting a job.
• Support the company's On-Time Delivery targets through efficient setup and consistent output.
