Job summary

Rollomatic Malaysia in Penang seeks a skilled Rollomatic CNC Machinist to set up, program, and operate multi-axis grinding machines for high-precision tooling. You will grind carbide or HSS blanks to sub-micron tolerances and ensure flawless surface finishes.

You will handle wheel dressing, wheel data entry, and use metrology tools for first-article and in-process checks to meet exact specifications.

Qualifications

• Experience with Rollomatic CNC systems and tooling.
• Proficient in setting up, programming, and operating multi-axis grinders.
• Knowledge of grinding carbide and HSS to tight tolerances.
• Familiarity with precision metrology equipment and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate Rollomatic CNC grinding machines, including wheel changes and loading synchronization.
• Load, edit, and optimize CNC programs using VirtualGrind Pro; adjust paths, feeds, speeds, and sequences.
• Grind high-precision tools from carbide or HSS to micron tolerances.
• Dress wheel packs with diamond or CBN wheels and input wheel data into the CNC controller.
• Perform first-article and in-process inspections using metrology equipment to ensure quality.

Rollomatic CNC Machinist (Precision Engineering)

The Rollomatic CNC Machinist sets up, programs, and operates multi-axis Rollomatic CNC grinding machines (such as the GrindSmart® or ShapeSmart® series) to manufacture high-precision cutting tools, micro-tools, and medical components. This role requires grinding complex geometries on carbide and HSS while maintaining sub-micron tolerances and flawless surface finishes.

Machine Setup & Operation: Set up and operate Rollomatic CNC grinding machines, including wheel pack changes, collet adjustments, and robotic loader synchronization.

Programming & Editing: Load, edit, and optimize CNC programs using Rollomatic software (VirtualGrind® Pro). Adjust wheel paths, feeds, speeds, and grinding sequences to meet exact specs.

Precision Tool Grinding: Grind high-precision punch, reamers and custom micro-tools from solid carbide or HSS blanks.

Wheel Profile Dressing: Select, mount, and dress diamond and CBN wheel packs. Measure and input wheel qualification data into the CNC controller.

In-Process Quality Control: Perform first-article and in-process inspections using ultra-precision metrology equipment (e.g. profile projectors, laser micrometers) to guarantee tolerances down to the micron level.
