Job summary

Kawan Renergy is seeking a Design and Costing Engineer in Ipoh to contribute to sustainable energy projects. You will design and size equipment, prepare P&IDs, datasheets and cost estimates, and help develop technical and commercial proposals for tenders.

Collaboration with clients, suppliers and internal teams is essential. The role welcomes fresh graduates and junior professionals with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, who are eager to learn and apply practical engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, electrical engineering or related field.
• Fresh graduates and junior professionals encouraged to apply.
• 0–3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Strong analytical and numerical skills, ability to read technical drawings.
• Comfortable with cost estimates and financial spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering design, calculations and equipment sizing.
• Prepare P&IDs, datasheets, drawings and other technical documents.
• Prepare project cost estimates, quotations, budgets and material take-offs.
• Develop technical and commercial proposals for tenders and client submissions.
• Review client requirements, technical specifications and contract documents.
• Identify risks during proposal and design stages.
• Obtain and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.
• Support project execution, site activities, testing and commissioning.
• Research emerging energy technologies and sustainable solutions.
• Identify design optimisation and cost-saving opportunities.
