Job summary

Cochlear Malaysia seeks a Goods Inwards Inspector to perform inspection of fast-moving items and verify quality against product specifications. You will inspect incoming goods, use measuring tools, and ensure proper documentation and handling per QMS.

Collaboration with internal/external teams is essential to address defects and shortages. The role requires a Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical) or related, 2–3 years in warehouse/logistics in manufacturing, and experience with ERP

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical or relevant).
• 2–3 years of experience in warehouse/logistics in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with measuring equipment (rulers, vernier calipers, micrometers).
• Ability to interpret technical drawings showing profiles, materials and measurements.
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally Oracle.
• Experience with ESD controls.
• Experience performing quality inspections or verifications.
• Intermediate MS Excel & Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform goods inwards inspection and delivery acceptance using appropriate methodologies.
• Inspect goods inwards according to quality schedules; accept/reject per specifications.
• Conduct visual inspections and use measuring tools to complete inspections of goods received.
• Communicate defects/shortages/excess issues with internal and external departments.
• Verify supplier documentation for goods received is correct.
• Ensure product identification, storage and handling per QMS; process disposition transactions.
• Undertake additional quality duties (e.g., audits) when trained.
• Deliver goods to inventory per warehouse procedures.
• Adhere to 5S and ESD requirements and Cochlear quality system.
• Maintain safe workplace practices.

We are seeking for a Goods Inwards Inspector and in this role, you will be responsible to perform inspection of fast-moving items and ability to complete quality inspections or verifications against a product specification document.

Key Responsibilities:

In this role you will be responsible for:

• Performing goods inwards inspection or delivery acceptance and using an appropriate methodology.
• Conduct goods inwards inspections according to quality schedules, accept / reject product according to specifications.
• Perform visual inspections and use measuring tools, for the process steps required to complete the inspection of goods received.
• Liaise with Internal and External Departments to communicate Defect/ shortage/excess issues.
• Ensure all supporting documentation from the supplier for the goods received is correct.
• Ensure product identification, storage, and handling in accordance with QMS, including required transactions for items disposition.
• Undertake additional quality responsibilities (e.g., audit) when appropriately trained to undertake these responsibilities.
• Deliver goods to inventory as per related procedures (Warehouse).
• Adhere to 5S and ESD requirements.
• Comply with Cochlear's Quality system and meet quality standards.
• Practice good workplace safety habits.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical or relevant).
• 2 - 3 years of experience in warehouse / logistics operation in a manufacturing environment.
• Candidates with hands on experience in the basic use of measuring equipment e.g., Rulers, Vernier Calipers, Micrometers has an added advantage.
• Able to interpretation and understanding of technical drawings, showing profiles, materials, and measurements.
• Experience with using an ERP system, ideally ORACLE
• Experience working with ESD controls
• Experience working in a role where quality inspections or verifications were required to be completed.
• Intermediate skill level in use of MS Excel & Word
