Job summary

Cochlear Malaysia provides shared services to support Cochlear’s global operations and seeks a Goods Inwards Inspector to verify incoming materials against specifications and quality standards. You will document results, ensure proper handling, and support warehouse processes.

Ideal candidates have a Diploma in Engineering and 2-3 years in a manufacturing warehouse, with hands-on measuring tools, ERP awareness (Oracle), ESD controls, and strong MS Excel/Word skills to maintain accurate records

Qualifications

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Mechanical or relevant).
• 2-3 years of experience in warehouse/logistics operation in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with measuring equipment (rulers, vernier calipers, micrometers) is an advantage.
• Able to read and interpret technical drawings showing profiles, materials, and measurements.
• Experience with ERP systems, ideally Oracle.
• Experience working with ESD controls and quality inspections/verifications.
• Intermediate MS Excel and Word skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform goods inwards inspection or delivery acceptance using appropriate methodologies.
• Inspect goods inwards according to schedules and accept/reject per specifications.
• Conduct visual inspections and use measuring tools for required process steps.
• Coordinate with internal/external departments to address defects, shortages or excesses.
• Verify supplier documentation for received goods is correct.
• Ensure proper product identification, storage, and handling per QMS.
• Take on additional quality tasks (e.g., audits) when trained.
• Deliver goods to inventory per warehouse procedures.
• Adhere to 5S and ESD requirements and Cochlear quality system.

We are seeking a Goods Inwards Inspector and in this role, you will be responsible to perform inspection of fast-moving items and ability to complete quality inspections or verifications against a product specification document.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform goods inwards inspection or delivery acceptance and use an appropriate methodology.
• Conduct goods inwards inspections according to quality schedules, accept/reject product according to specifications.
• Perform visual inspections and use measuring tools for the process steps required to complete the inspection of goods received.
• Liaise with internal and external departments to communicate defect/shortage/excess issues.
• Ensure all supporting documentation from the supplier for the goods received is correct.
• Ensure product identification, storage, and handling in accordance with QMS, including required transactions for items disposition.
• Undertake additional quality responsibilities (e.g., audit) when appropriately trained.
• Deliver goods to inventory as per related procedures (warehouse).
• Adhere to 5S and ESD requirements.
• Comply with Cochlear's quality system and meet quality standards.
• Practice good workplace safety habits.

Key Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in Engineering (Electrical / Mechanical or relevant).
• 2-3 years of experience in warehouse / logistics operation in a manufacturing environment.
• Candidates with hands-on experience in the basic use of measuring equipment e.g., rulers, vernier calipers, micrometers has an added advantage.
• Able to interpret and understand technical drawings, showing profiles, materials, and measurements.
• Experience with using an ERP system, ideally Oracle.
• Experience working with ESD controls.
• Experience working in a role where quality inspections or verifications were required to be completed.
• Intermediate skill level in use of MS Excel & Word.
