Job summary

Comet Technologies Malaysia Sdn Bhd, based in Penang, seeks a Global Supplier Quality Senior Engineer to lead supplier quality initiatives across selection, qualification, NPI, audits and performance improvement. You will drive APQP/PPAP/FAI and ensure process capability while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, high-tech environment.

The role requires 5+ years in supplier quality, strong knowledge of FMEA, MSA, SPC and 8D, and hands-on experience with machining, plastics,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field with 5+ years of Supplier Quality experience.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, 8D and supplier auditing.
• Experience with machining, plastics, welding, plating, PCBA/SMT or RF components.
• Experience with supplier audits, process capability, root cause analysis and quality improvement; CQI-11/silver plating knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills; proficient in SAP, Minitab and MS Office; willing to travel.

• Conduct supplier audits, process assessments and technical reviews to evaluate capability and controls.

• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, NPI, Procurement, Supply Chain and Quality teams to resolve supplier issues.

Global Supplier Quality Senior Engineer

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What You Will Do

• Lead global supplier quality activities across supplier selection, qualification, NPI, audits, development, and performance improvement.


• Drive APQP, PPAP, FAI, Safe Launch, and supplier readiness to ensure quality and process capability requirements are met.


• Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and technical reviews to evaluate manufacturing capability and quality controls.


• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and other quality tools.


• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, NPI, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve supplier issues and improve quality performance.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, or a related field, with 5+ years of Supplier Quality experience.


• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, 8D, and supplier auditing.


• Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, plastics, welding, plating, PCBA/SMT, or RF components.


• Experience with supplier audits, process capability, root cause analysis, and quality improvement; CQI-11/silver plating knowledge is an advantage.


• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with SAP, Minitab, and Microsoft Office knowledge and willingness to travel.
