Job summary

Comet Group in Penang, Malaysia, is seeking a Global Supplier Quality Senior Engineer for the Plasma Control Technologies division. You will lead supplier quality activities worldwide, from supplier selection through qualification, audits, and performance improvement, ensuring quality and process capability.

You will collaborate with R&D, Engineering, NPI, Procurement, and Supply Chain teams, conduct root-cause analyses, and drive APQP/PPAP, FAI, and Safe Launch, with willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of supplier quality experience.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI, FMEA, MSA and SPC.
• Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, plastics, welding, PCBA/SMT, or RF components.
• Experience with supplier audits, process capability, root cause analysis, and quality improvement.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills; willing to travel.

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What you will do

• Lead global supplier quality activities across supplier selection, qualification, NPI, audits, development, and performance improvement.
• Drive APQP, PPAP, FAI, Safe Launch, and supplier readiness to ensure quality and process capability requirements are met.
• Conduct supplier audits, process assessments, and technical reviews to evaluate manufacturing capability and quality controls.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and other quality tools.
• Collaborate with R&D, Engineering, NPI, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality teams to resolve supplier issues and improve quality performance.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality, or a related field, with 5+ years of Supplier Quality experience.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FAI, FMEA, MSA, SPC, Control Plan, 8D, and supplier auditing.
• Experience in manufacturing processes such as machining, plastics, welding, plating, PCBA/SMT, or RF components.
• Experience with supplier audits, process capability, root cause analysis, and quality improvement; CQI-11/silver plating knowledge is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with SAP, Minitab, and Microsoft Office knowledge and willingness to travel.
