Job summary

Johnson Matthey is seeking a Database Administrator to join our global database operations team in Kuala Lumpur. You will deliver day-to-day Level 2 operations support, manage SQL Server environments, and assist with performance analysis and incident resolution across APAC/EMEA/AMER shifts.

The role emphasizes monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining secure, compliant IT services, with opportunities to work across Azure, VMware, backups, DR readiness and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DBA experience in 3–5 years in an operational setting.
• Experience with SQL Server in production environments.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident/change management.

Responsibilities

• Provide implementation and technical support for database infrastructure.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and implement approved resolutions.
• Monitor environments and respond to service requests, incidents, and changes.
• Ensure secure systems and DR/BCP compliance.
