Job summary

Johnson Matthey Services Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Database Operation Engineer to join its global team. You will provide day-to-day Level 2 operations support for JM's Global Database infrastructure, leveraging SolarWinds DPA for performance monitoring to ensure reliability.

You will implement, troubleshoot, monitor, and decommission IT services, while adhering to BCP/DR, and communicating with stakeholders across APAC/EMEA/AMER time zones. Strong SQL Server and cloud SQL skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of Microsoft SQL Server operational experience.
• Experience with Azure SQL environments.
• Experience with PowerShell, VMware, server, network, firewall.
• Familiarity with backup, restore and DR concepts.
• Understanding of ITIL principles.

Responsibilities

• Provide implementation and technical support; including planning, installation, ongoing management, monitoring, troubleshooting, and decommissioning, following operational policies and processes that are compliant with JM IT's standards.
• Analyze, troubleshoot and implement approved and standardized resolutions.
• Monitor environments; respond to service requests, incidents, change requests, and problem management.
• Troubleshoot incidents and problems as reported by users and maintain a secure systems environment.
• Adhere to and execute the approved BCP/DR process.
