Johnson Matthey Plc is seeking a Senior Database Engineer in Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) to design, implement, and manage SQL Server environments across on-premises and Azure. The role includes HA/DR planning, performance tuning, and automation to ensure high availability and secure data access for analytics applications.
The candidate will lead upgrades, migrations, and collaborate with cross-functional teams while supporting Power BI reporting and Azure SQL services.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of MS SQL Server administration in enterprise environments.
- Experience with SQL Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and newer versions.
- Experience across on-prem and Azure SQL services.
- Proficient in HA/DR, backups, and migrations.
- Strong PowerShell scripting and automation.
Responsabilités
- Design, implement, and support SQL Server environments on-prem and Azure.
- Manage lifecycle activities: installation, patching, upgrades, migrations.
- Design and maintain HA/DR solutions and security controls.
- Monitor performance, optimize queries, and health checks.
- Lead upgrade and migration projects with minimal disruption.
- Provide Power BI backend support and automation.
