Job summary

Celestica Inc. in Penang is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to manage supplier identification, analyze bids and drive quality performance. The role requires design tools expertise and a strong grasp of ISO/IATF standards.

Responsibilities include NPIs documentation, engineering calculations and collaboration with cross-functional teams to meet project goals. Travel may be required to support overseas suppliers and manufacturing partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Manufacturing/Materials engineering.
• 2-3 years of related experience in engineering, manufacturing, quality management and SCM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and qualified suppliers for engineering and manufacturing needs.
• Prepare engineering calculations, design change proposals and review drawings/ specs.
• Analyze supplier quotes and bids to inform decisions.
• Drive supplier quality performance management (DPPM, SQIP).
• Document NPIs (FAI, PPAP) and maintain records.
• Apply SolidWorks/Creo for design tasks and ensure ISO/IATF/AS9100 quality standards.
