Job summary

Jabil Penang is seeking a skilled Quoting Specialist to execute global new business quoting activities based on RFQ checklists and to develop a robust supply base for quoting needs. You will train and support department members to use business systems efficiently, and collaborate with Business Unit Management to ensure SCM is involved in new opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience leading procurement projects and quotes.
• Mentor team members on procurement processes.
• Advanced Excel skills and data analysis ability.
• Ability to calculate discounts, lead times, and costs.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making under ambiguity.
• Able to present to groups and communicate clearly.
• Manage competing priorities and changing deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support new business and quotation activities.
• Develop relationships with Business Unit Management to involve SCM in opportunities.
• Attend quote kick-off meetings.
• Drive quotes based on RFQ checklist and commit to delivery dates.
• Review BOM data and assign correct commodity/ manufacturer.
• Prepare quote packages and solicit quotes.
• Maintain knowledge of materials and supply base for pricing and quantity.
• Analyze pricing options to achieve lower TCO.
• Manage and develop supply base for quoting.
• Select suppliers and analyze quotes to provide best quoted cost.
• Review quotes with Global Commodity Management and Material Quote Manager.
• Support alternate supply bases for quoting.
• Ensure information is available for quotes.
• Demonstrate commitment to customer service and solve problems quickly.
• Evaluate supplier performance on a quarterly basis.
• Provide updates and reporting on quotation activities.
• Identify and implement process improvements and best practices.
• Ensure adherence to company policies (Health and Safety, Quality).
• Handle confidential information appropriately.
• Comply with security procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
