Job summary

Jabil in Malaysia (Penang) is seeking a procurement expert to optimize the total cost of materials, build a strategic supplier base and negotiate terms for materials critical to the Business Unit.

Responsibilities include supervising Purchasing staff, improving MPV, and aligning SCM inputs to customer requirements and AMLs. Strong analytical and PC skills, plus knowledge of Jabil software, are essential.

Qualifications

• Ability to present information clearly and respond to questions from managers and customers.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Ability to operate a PC including Windows and related software.
• Advanced PC skills and knowledge of Jabil software packages.
• Ability to write simple correspondence and read visual aids.
• Ability to follow simple instructions with minimal variables.
• Ability to read and understand instructions, memos, and correspondences.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and interpret graphs.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and project component purchase prices reflecting inventory value in standard costing.
• Assist hiring manager by participating in recruiting activities.
• Ensure Purchasing staff have training, tools, and resources to perform their roles.
• Optimize overall cost of materials.
• Support and input into SCM initiatives and strategies.
• Develop supplier lists and AML with internal resources and customers.
• Provide input for competitive quoted costs to customers while maximizing MPV.
• Continuously optimize MPV by reducing material costs and minimizing PPV/MPV.
• Monitor supplier performance on cost, delivery and quality.
• Manage materials unique to the Business Unit and strategic materials.
• Understand supplier capabilities, market trends and technologies for assigned commodities.
• Communicate expectations to suppliers; conduct supplier audits and reviews to improve supply base.
• Develop supply chain strategies aligned with customer requirements and Business Unit goals.
• Work with Analysts to quote new materials and re-quote to realize cost reductions.
• Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for Jabil and customers.
