Job summary

DayOne in Johor, Malaysia, invites a senior Mechanical Engineering Manager to lead the design, installation, and ongoing operation of mechanical systems across our data centres. You will drive reliability, safety, and efficiency in a fast-growing global infrastructure business.

You will manage a team of engineers and technicians, coordinate with vendors, and ensure 24/7 coverage with strong focus on maintenance planning, audits, and continuous improvement. PE certification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7–10 years of mechanical engineering experience, with 3–5 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of data centre mechanical infrastructure, including HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, and fire suppression.
• Proven experience in leading technical teams and 24/7 operations.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or similar certifications are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within data centres.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers and technicians for 24/7 coverage.
• Plan preventative and corrective maintenance; coordinate with vendors.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Support strategic initiatives to enhance mechanical system performance.
• Participate in budget planning and cost management.
