Job summary

DayOne Data Centers Ltd. is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineering leader to manage the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of data centre mechanical systems.

You will lead a team of engineers and technicians, coordinating with 24/7 shift coverage and driving safety, reliability, and continuous improvement across HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, and fire-suppression systems. Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 710 years of mechanical engineering experience, with 35 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of data centre mechanical infrastructure (HVAC, chillers, cooling towers, fire suppression).
• Proven experience leading technical teams and 24/7 operations.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Certifications such as PE or similar are desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems within the data centres.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of mechanical engineers and technicians, fostering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Plan and oversee preventative and corrective maintenance activities with vendors and contractors.
• Ensure all mechanical operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Provide technical expertise and support for mechanical systems across operations.
• Support strategic initiatives to enhance system performance and cost management.
