Job summary

First Solar Inc. is seeking a Human Resources Generalist I in Malaysia to join our HR team. This role offers broad, hands-on experience in a dynamic manufacturing environment and emphasizes collaboration with managers and staff on daily HR matters.

You will support employee relations, recruitment, performance management, development planning, and HR reporting, while ensuring adherence to policies and local employment laws in English and Malay.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in HR, Business or related field.
• Fresh graduates or candidates with up to two years of HR experience are welcome.
• Good written and verbal communication in English and Malay.

Responsibilities

• Partner with managers and employees on day-to-day HR matters.
• Support employee relations, disciplinary matters, grievance handling and workplace conflict resolution.
• Coordinate performance reviews, talent reviews and employee development plans.
• Assist with recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, redeployment and succession planning.
• Support compensation planning and ensure fair, consistent HR practices.
• Prepare HR reports, workforce indicators and data-driven presentations.
• Coordinate HR programs, training, engagement activities and organizational initiatives.
• Prepare employee communications and digital content in English and Malay.
• Guide managers on HR policies, processes, systems and tools.
• Collaborate with specialist HR teams to deliver effective solutions.
• Maintain accurate HR records and support compliance with employment legislation and company policies.

What We’re Looking For

• Basic knowledge of Malaysian employment and industrial relations legislation.
• Exposure to manufacturing or corporate HR is an advantage.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay.
• Exposure to employee communications, presentations and stakeholder engagement.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; exposure to HRIS is preferred.
• Familiarity with AI tools, Microsoft Copilot, Canva or similar productivity and content-creation platforms is an advantage.
• Collaborative, adaptable, detail-oriented and eager to learn.
