Job summary

SCC Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd in Malaysia seeks a senior General Trade Sales Leader to drive GT teams across territories. You will set targets, optimize distribution through wholesalers and sub-distributors, and lead critical trade promotions.

Strong leadership, Excel proficiency, and RTM expertise are essential. The role requires extensive travel, a degree in business/marketing, and 8+ years FMCG sales experience with 4–5 years in GT leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field.
• 8+ years FMCG sales, 4–5 years leading a General Trade team.
• Strong experience in wholesalers, sub-distributors & traditonal trade outlets.
• Good RTM, SFE metrics & trade spend management understanding.
• Strong leadership, analytical & stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient in Excel; SFA/DMS systems advantageous.
• Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia & English; Mandarin an advantage.
• Willing to travel across territories.
• Experience in food/dairy or distributor environment an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and review a team of Territory Sales Supervisors and Sales Reps.
• Own GT sales targets and cascade them across territories.
• Drive distribution growth across GT outlets, wholesalers, and sub-distributors.
• Develop and execute Route-to-Market strategy incl. outlet coverage & delivery frequency.
• Manage appointment, onboarding, and performance of sub-distributors and wholesalers.
• Ensure in-store execution standards: must-stock SKUs, shelf visibility, pricing, POSM.
• Execute trade promotions and new product launches; track effectiveness.
• Monitor sales force effectiveness and implement corrective actions.
• Manage trade spend budget, credit control, collection, and stock health.
• Plan manpower, recruitment, and training for the GT team.
• Prepare and present monthly and quarterly business reviews to management and client.
