Job summary

Jtexpress is seeking an experienced accounting leader to oversee the general ledger, ensure accuracy, and maintain compliance with Malaysian regulations. You will manage month-end and year-end closings, perform journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting to support informed decision-making.

Reporting to senior management, you will develop robust financial controls, mentor the accounting team, and coordinate with internal and external auditors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is preferred.
• Minimum of 5–8 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS and tax regulations.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
• Able to manage multiple deadlines with attention to detail.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the general ledger (GL) function, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Ensure all financial transactions are recorded timely and accurately.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and financial statements.
• Work with internal and external auditors to support audit processes.
• Assist in tax filings, regulatory reporting, and compliance with local accounting standards.
• Develop and implement financial controls and procedures to improve efficiency.
• Lead and mentor the accounting team, ensuring continuous improvement and professional development.
• Support system implementation and upgrades related to financial reporting and accounting.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support business decision-making.
