Job summary

Prokhas Sdn Bhd is building and supporting government IT web applications to improve public sector workflows and decision making. You will join a cross-functional team with product managers, engineers, designers and stakeholders to deliver scalable, user-centric solutions.

As a frontend engineer, you will craft production-grade features in TypeScript using modern frameworks like React, ensure clean UI components, and collaborate to align backend APIs with frontend needs while upholding

Qualifications

• Experience building and shipping production-grade frontend applications.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React).
• Solid understanding of component-based architecture, state management, and data fetching patterns.
• Experience integrating with APIs and handling real-world concerns (loading states, errors, edge cases).
• Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles.
• Cares deeply about code quality, testing, and maintainable UI architecture.
• Comfortable working closely with designers and backend engineers to deliver cohesive features.
• Able to work in a team that values discussion, ownership, and feedback.

You will be part of a cross-functional team working closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions. This role offers the opportunity to shape user experiences at scale and directly improve how services are delivered and used.

What you’ll do

Build and maintain user-facing features using TypeScript and modern component-based frameworks (e.g. React)

Translate product and design requirements into clean, maintainable, and reusable UI components

Integrate frontend applications with backend services, ensuring smooth data flow and consistent user experience

Collaborate with backend engineers on API design and data contracts to support frontend needs

Ensure performance, accessibility, and responsiveness across supported devices and environments

Write automated tests (unit/integration) to maintain frontend reliability

Contribute to shared UI patterns, frontend architecture, and code quality standards

Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and production support

What we’re looking for

Experience building and shipping production-grade frontend applications

Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g. React)

Solid understanding of component-based architecture, state management, and data fetching patterns

Good understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles

Nice to have

Experience building or contributing to design systems or component libraries (eg. Storybook)

Experience with mobile development technologies

Experience with frontend performance optimization (code splitting, caching, rendering strategies)

Understanding of accessibility standards (semantic HTML, ARIA)

Experience with end-to-end testing tools (e.g. Playwright)

Exposure to frontend observability (monitoring, logging, user session tracking)

Eye for UX and product thinking beyond just implementation

Prokhas Sdn Bhd is a private limited company wholly-owned by Minister of Finance, Incorporated (MOF Inc.) initially established to manage the residual assets of Danaharta after it closed its chapter on 31 December 2005. Danaharta was a success story on its own, where it had managed to achieve its NPL recovery mission during the Asian financial crisis and further assist to re-energise Malaysia’s financial sector.
