Job summary

Leong Kee Food Trading Sdn Bhd is seeking a Food Technologist/QC Executive to oversee food safety, quality control, and R&D across our F&B operations. The role combines QA/QC responsibilities with day-to-day production support to ensure product integrity.

You will monitor compliance with HACCP and GMP, conduct shelf-life studies, lead audits, and collaborate with production and suppliers to optimise formulations and processes.

Qualifications

• Degree in Food Science or related discipline
• Experience in QA/QC or Food Technologist role in F&B
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards (HACCP, GMP)
• Familiarity with product development and process optimization
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluent in Bahasa Melayu and English

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily food safety and quality control monitoring on materials, in-progress, and finished products.
• Respond promptly to non-conformances, complaints, and issues.
• Perform on-site monitoring to maintain food safety and quality.
• Lead audits (internal and external) and document findings.
• Develop and optimise formulations to meet market needs.
• Collaborate with production to implement new processes and technologies.
• Maintain detailed testing and development records; liaise with suppliers/labs for testing.

About the role

A Food Technologist/QC Executive role in the F&B Industry responsible for Food Safety, Quality Control and R&D who is available to start as soon as possible. The role combines Quality Assurance and responsibilities with Operational matters.

Salary is negotiable depending on years of experience and qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct daily food safety / quality control monitoring and verification on raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products.
• Able to respond to any non-conformance/complaints/issues in a timely manner.
• Able to do frequent on-site monitoring to ensure the food safety/quality is maintained.
• Able to complete other general QA/QC tasks.
• Implement and ensure compliance with food safety standards, regulations and industry best practices throughout the production process
• Investigate and resolve product quality issues, including troubleshooting production challenges
• Perform shelf-life studies and stability testing to determine product durability and safety
• Able to lead and complete audits (internal and external).
• Develop and optimise food products and formulations to meet market requirements and consumer preferences
• Able to ensure FIFO procedure is followed.
• Collaborate with production team to implement new processes and technologies that enhance efficiency
• Document and maintain detailed records of all testing, analyses and product development activities
• Liaise with suppliers and external laboratories to source materials and conduct specialised testing

What we're looking for

• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or food related scientific discipline
• Proven experience working as a QA/QC or Food Technologist or in a similar technical role within the food and beverage industry
• Strong knowledge of food safety standards, including HACCP, GMP
• Familiarity with food product development, formulation and process optimisation
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail
• Can work well with others and have good communication skills in both Bahasa Melayu and English.
