Job summary

SMART LEGACY SDN BHD in Malaysia is seeking an Operation Manager to oversee day-to-day food court operations in a shopping mall, ensuring quality, standards and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree, at least 3 years in F&B operations, strong leadership, and fluency in English and Malay; Mandarin an added advantage.

You will lead the team, optimize workflows, manage budgets, and drive guest experience while maintaining safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing or equivalent.
• English, Malay and Mandarin (an added advantage).
• At least 3 years of working experience in the related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day shopping mall food court operations to meet customer expectations.
• Implement best practices to optimize workflow and reduce wait times.
• Plan and work to budgets to maximize profits and sales targets.
• Lead F&B team with recruiting, training, scheduling and appraisal.
• Provide guidance to ensure consistent performance and growth.
• Lead, mentor and motivate supervisors and staff to deliver exceptional service.
• Review sales vs target and staff performance.
• Establish and maintain positive relations with tenants/vendors.
• Ensure health and safety regulations compliance and proper food handling.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and resolve issues.
• Ensure site is well maintained and stocked for maximum efficiency.
• Conduct annual staff reviews and disciplinary actions.
• Continuously review operations and suggest improvements.
• Report on sales results and productivity.

Job description

Job responsibilities - Operation Manager :

Manages day-to-day shopping mall’s food court operations, ensures the quality, standards and meets the customers’ expectations on a daily basis.

Implement best practices to optimize workflow, minimize wait times, and enhance the overall customer experience.

Plan and work to budgets, maximize profits and achieve sales targets set by the Management.

Lead F&B team by attracting, recruiting, training, creating work schedules and appraising talented personnel.

Provide guidance and coaching to ensure consistent performance and growth within the team.

To lead, mentor and motivate a team of supervisors and staff, fostering a positive work culture, teamwork, and exceptional service delivery.

Review sales vs target and staff performance.

Establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with food court tenants/vendors.

Address tenant concerns and facilitate communication between tenants and management.

Ensure the food court complies with all health and safety regulations and food handling guidelines.

Handle customer complaints and resolve issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Ensure that the site is well maintained and correctly furnished/stocked to operate to maximum efficiency

Handle disciplinary issues, conducting annual review and confirmation of staff.

Constantly review, evaluate operations/procedures and suggest improvements to the management.

Report on management regarding sales results and productivity.

Requirements :

Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing or equivalent.

Required language(s): English, Malay, Mandarin (an added advantage).

At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.

Preferably Manager specialized in Food/Beverage/Restaurant Service or equivalent.

Must possess own transport.

Strong leadership skills and the ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.

Strong analytical skills; Good in problem solving.

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

Must have positive working attitude, willing to take up responsibilities.

Familiarity with food safety regulations, health standards, and hygiene practices.

In-depth knowledge of restaurant/food court operations, quality standards, and customer service principles.

Knowledge in cost management will be an added advantage.

Must able to work shifts (morning or noon shifts).

Must willing to work in shopping center / malls office.

Reporting to Senior Operation Manager.

NOTE: This task refers to the OPERATIONS MANAGER who manages operations at the outlet.
