Job summary

Arup in Malaysia is looking for a Fire Engineer to deliver technically excellent fire safety solutions tailored to clients’ needs. You will work with senior engineers to develop fire strategies, assess performance, and document outcomes to support project delivery and coordination.

Qualifications

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Engineering, specialising in Fire Engineering or a JBPM-recognised discipline.
  • Proven experience in Fire Engineering within a consulting environment with knowledge of fire safety principles, regulations and project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities with a track record of delivering high-quality work on time and to budget.
  • Collaborative, ethical, proactive approach and commitment to continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver a diverse range of fire engineering projects with technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop fire engineering strategies, analyse design performance, and prepare reports, technical documentation and client recommendations.

As a Fire Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering technically excellent fire safety solutions that are tailored to our clients’ unique needs and project requirements. Working closely with senior members of the team, you will help develop fire strategies, assess design performance, and document technical outcomes to support project delivery and coordination. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to complex and high-profile projects while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across the region.

The Opportunity

Is this role right for you?
  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Engineering, specialising in Fire Engineering or a related discipline recognised by JBPM.
  • Proven experience in Fire Engineering within a consulting environment, with a strong understanding of fire safety principles, regulations, and project delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality work on time and to budget.
