About the role

We are seeking a talented and motivated Financial Planner to join our team at Hong Leong Assurance in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our financial planning division. As a Financial Planner, you will be at the forefront of providing comprehensive financial advice and solutions to our clients, helping them navigate complex financial decisions and build sustainable wealth strategies. This role is integral to our mission of delivering personalised financial planning services that make a real difference in our clients' lives.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct thorough financial assessments and analysis for individual and corporate clients to understand their financial goals, risk tolerance and circumstances
• Develop comprehensive and tailored financial plans covering areas such as investment strategy, retirement planning, insurance needs, tax planning and wealth management
• Provide professional financial advice and recommendations based on industry best practices and regulatory requirements
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication, follow-ups and ongoing portfolio reviews
• Identify and assess insurance and investment needs, recommending appropriate products and solutions that align with client objectives
• Collaborate with colleagues across different departments to ensure seamless service delivery and holistic financial solutions
• Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes and product developments to provide current and relevant advice
• Prepare detailed financial planning documentation and reports for client presentations and records
• Meet performance targets and business development goals while maintaining high standards of professionalism and compliance

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration or a related field
• Professional certifications such as Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) or equivalent qualifications are highly preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in financial planning, investment advisory, insurance or related financial services roles
• Strong knowledge of financial products including insurance, investments, retirement planning and wealth management strategies
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and present clear recommendations
• Outstanding communication and presentation abilities with the capability to explain financial concepts to clients with varying levels of financial literacy
• Strong numeracy and proficiency with financial planning software and Microsoft Office applications
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships whilst meeting sales and business development targets
• High level of integrity, discretion and commitment to client confidentiality and regulatory compliance
• Self-motivated and results-oriented with excellent time management and organisational skills
• Willingness to pursue further professional qualifications and continuous learning in the financial services industry
