Job summary

APT Group of Companies in Malaysia seeks a capable Financial Controller to join the leadership team. You will lead full‑spectrum finance and accounting functions, oversee monthly close, reporting, and cash flow, and drive strong internal controls to support growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
• Must be a Chartered Accountant and a current MIA member with a valid Practising Certificate.
• Minimum 5–8 years of experience in finance/accounting leadership role.
• Strong knowledge in financial reporting, budgeting, taxation, audit, and internal control.
• Experience in retail, chain store, beauty, or service industry is an added advantage.
• Experience in business expansion, corporate structuring, or listing preparation is a strong advantage.
• Strong analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, responsible, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Able to maintain confidentiality and high professional integrity.

• Build scalable finance systems suitable for company growth and future listing preparation.
• Lead and develop the finance team.

We are looking for a capable, strategic, and hands-on Financial Controller to join our leadership team and grow together with the company.

This is more than a finance role — we are seeking someone who can help build a stronger financial foundation, improve internal controls, support business expansion, and prepare the company for the next level.

Key Responsibilities

Lead full-spectrum finance and accounting functions

Prepare monthly management reports, financial analysis, and cash flow reports

Ensure accurate and timely financial closing

Monitor company profitability, costing, and financial performance

Internal Control & Compliance

Strengthen internal control systems and SOP

Ensure compliance with statutory, audit, tax, and financial regulations

Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, and bankers

Improve financial governance and reporting standards

Strategic & Business Planning

Support management in budgeting, forecasting, and business planning

Participate in expansion planning, investment analysis, and business decision-making

Build scalable finance systems suitable for company growth and future listing preparation

Payroll & Operational Finance Oversight

Monitor payroll structure, commission schemes, and operational costing

Ensure proper financial controls across branches and departments

Review business processes and recommend improvements for efficiency and profitability

Leadership

Lead and develop the finance team

Work closely with directors and HODs to support business operations and growth

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
