Job summary

Aleta Planet Pte. Ltd. in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a highly experienced Head of Finance to lead the company’s finance function. You will manage financial reporting, group consolidation, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and tax, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

As a strategic partner to senior management, you will provide financial insights, drive efficiency and growth, and mentor a high‑performing finance team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• A professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent is preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, including group consolidation.
• Strong experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling. Exposure to M&A, fundraising, or corporate finance will be an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, MFRS, taxation, internal controls, and financial governance frameworks.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling tools.
• Proven leadership experience in managing, mentoring, and developing finance teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for senior management, auditors, and advisors.
• Experience in Fintech/Technology/Financial Services in high-growth environments is advantageous.

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Head of Finance to lead and oversee the Company's finance function.

The role will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of the Company's finance activities, including financial reporting, group consolidation, budgeting and forecasting, treasury and cash flow management, taxation, financial planning and analysis, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.

As a key business partner to senior management, the Head of Finance will provide financial insights, analysis, and recommendations to support effective decision-making, improve operational efficiency, manage financial risks, drive sustainable business growth, and enhance profitability.

This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, commercial acumen, strategic thinking, and proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage complex finance operations in a fast-paced and evolving business environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and present timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial statements and management reports in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Lead and oversee the month-end and year-end financial closing processes.

Manage and support the Group's consolidation and financial reporting processes.

Analyse financial performance and variances against budgets and forecasts, providing actionable insights and recommendations to management.

Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of financial records and reporting.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

Lead the annual budgeting process and collaborate with department heads to establish financial targets.

Regularly update financial forecasts and provide insights on potential risks or opportunities.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.

Support financial modelling and scenario analysis for business planning and initiatives.

Internal Controls & Compliance:

Design, implement, and oversee effective internal controls to safeguard the Company's financial assets and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory and legal requirements.

Coordinate audits, ensuring their timely and successful completion and the prompt resolution of audit findings or discrepancies.

Treasury & Cash Flow Management

Oversee cash flow forecasting and liquidity management to ensure the Company can meet its financial obligations.

Optimise working capital through effective management of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other operational cash flow activities.

Oversee and support treasury-related activities, including banking relationships and financial resource management.

Monitor cash positions and provide recommendations to optimise the Company's financial resources.

Lead, manage, and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and high-performance working environment.

Establish clear objectives, performance expectations, and development plans for finance team members.

Identify training and development opportunities to strengthen the team's technical and professional capabilities.

Drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency across finance processes and activities.

Strategic Financial Planning:

Collaborate with senior leadership to develop financial strategies that support the Company's growth, operational efficiency, and profitability.

Contribute to long-term strategic planning, investment decisions, and risk management.

Monitor and oversee project budgets, forecasts, and actual cost tracking across all phases.

Taxation:

Oversee tax compliance and ensure the timely and accurate submission of tax filings and statutory obligations.

Monitor and manage tax liabilities and identify opportunities for applicable tax incentives, exemptions, or credits.

Other Duties as Assigned:

Provide financial analysis, management reports, and strategic recommendations as required by senior management.

Support corporate initiatives, business transformation projects, and other strategic finance-related matters.

Perform other finance and business-related duties as assigned by the Company.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.

A professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent is preferred.

A minimum of 8 years of relevant finance and accounting experience, including group consolidation.

Strong experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and financial modelling. Exposure to mergers and acquisitions (M&A), fundraising, or corporate finance will be an advantage.

Strong knowledge of IFRS, Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), taxation, internal controls, and financial governance frameworks.

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modelling tools.

Proven leadership experience in managing, mentoring, and developing finance teams.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior management, external stakeholders, auditors, and professional advisors.

Experience in Fintech, Technology, Financial Services, Payments, or high-growth environments will be an advantage.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
