Job summary

Singtel KL (Sudong MY Sdn Bhd) invites you to join its Kuala Lumpur Shared Services Centre as a Financial Applications Specialist. You will support, maintain and enhance finance systems and reporting solutions, helping Finance users solve data issues and translate business requirements into practical technology solutions.

You will build Excel-based and Power BI reporting, develop data models with SQL, and contribute to automation initiatives using Power Automate and Python.

Qualifications

• Experience in finance systems, reporting, data analytics or a related area.
• Strong SQL and database skills, with the ability to develop reliable, scalable and maintainable enterprise solutions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas, dynamic arrays and data modelling.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and logical problem-solving capability across systems and data.
• Ability to learn and apply new applications and technologies and build capability in automation, AI tools and the Microsoft ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to Finance users across reporting tools, data models and business systems.
• Develop Power BI dashboards and self-service reporting templates.
• Use SQL and relevant data platforms to develop reliable reporting and data solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality and single-source-of-truth reporting.
• Identify root causes of recurring system, data and process issues and recommend sustainable solutions.

Make An Impact By

• Finance Systems Support & Administration
• Provide day-to-day support to Finance users across reporting tools, data models and business systems.
• Diagnose and resolve system and data issues within agreed service levels and business priorities.
• Develop subject matter expertise across key tools and platforms within the Finance Systems portfolio.
• Support reliable system and reporting operations during critical Finance cycles, including month-end and financial year-end close.
• Reporting & Data Analytics
• Build, maintain and enhance Excel-based reporting solutions using Power Query, Power Pivot, dynamic formulas and data modelling.
• Support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and self-service reporting templates.
• Use SQL and relevant data platforms to develop reliable, scalable and maintainable reporting and data solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve data quality, consistency and single-source-of-truth reporting.
• Process Improvement & Automation
• Identify and implement technology-enabled process improvements that increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support automation initiatives using tools such as Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL, Python and other appropriate technologies.
• Partner with Finance and Technology teams to translate business requirements into practical system and reporting solutions.
• Contribute to standards, best practices, testing, code review, user acceptance testing and documentation.
• Identify root causes of recurring system, data and process issues and recommend sustainable solutions.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Service Delivery
• Partner with Commercial and Finance teams to understand requirements for reporting and system enhancements.
• Provide responsive user support, training and guidance on Finance tools and processes.
• Communicate technical and financial information clearly to stakeholders with different levels of technical expertise.
• Work collaboratively with Group IT, Finance Systems teams and external partners to progress system-related initiatives.
• Manage competing priorities effectively and take ownership of issues through to resolution.

Skills For Success

• Experience in finance systems, business systems, reporting, data analytics or a related area.
• Strong SQL and database skills, with the ability to develop reliable, scalable and maintainable enterprise solutions.

• Ability to learn and apply new applications and technologies and build capability in automation, AI tools and the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Strong attention to detail, customer focus, stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Demonstrated initiative, ownership and collaboration, with the ability to work independently when required.
• Ability to prioritise effectively and deliver quality outcomes while managing competing deadlines.
• Experience with Databricks, VBA/Excel macros, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint or Python is advantageous.
• A degree or equivalent relevant qualification in IT, Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related discipline is advantageous; equivalent relevant practical experience may also be considered.
