Job summary

Singtel KL (Sudong MY Sdn Bhd) invites applications for a Financial Applications Specialist to support, maintain and enhance finance systems and reporting solutions in Kuala Lumpur. You will work across finance applications, data and reporting tools, troubleshoot issues, and help automate finance processes.

The role covers finance systems support, reporting and data analytics, process improvement, stakeholder engagement, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Advanced Excel capabilities including Power Query/Power Pivot, complex formulas and data modelling.
• Experience in finance systems, reporting or data analytics.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support to finance users across reporting tools, data models and business systems.
• Troubleshoot system, reporting and data issues with focus on month-end and reporting cycles.
• Build, maintain and enhance Excel-based reporting and Power BI dashboards.
• Translate business requirements into practical reporting and system solutions.

We are looking for a Financial Applications Specialist to support, maintain and improve finance systems and reporting solutions. You will work across finance applications, data and reporting tools, troubleshoot user issues, enhance reporting, and identify opportunities to automate and simplify finance processes.

Make an Impact by:

Finance Systems Support & Administration

• Provide day-to-day support to finance users across reporting tools, data models and business systems.
• Troubleshoot system, reporting and data issues accurately and promptly, with particular focus on minimizing disruption to month-end and reporting cycles.
• Serve as a subject matter resource for key tools and platforms within the Finance Systems portfolio.
• Provide user guidance and training on finance tools, processes and reporting solutions.

Reporting & Data Analytics

• Build, maintain and enhance Excel-based reporting solutions using capabilities such as Power Query, Power Pivot, dynamic formulas and data modelling.
• Support the development and maintenance of Power BI dashboards and self-service reporting templates.
• Improve data quality, consistency and reporting practices to support reliable sources of financial information.
• Translate business requirements into practical reporting and system solutions.

Process Improvement & Automation

• Identify and implement technology-enabled improvements that make finance workflows simpler and more efficient.
• Support automation initiatives using tools such as Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL, Python or other appropriate technologies.
• Partner with Finance and Technology teams on system enhancements and process improvements.
• Contribute to standards, best practices, testing, user acceptance testing and documentation for Finance Systems.

Stakeholder Management & Service Delivery

• Partner with Commercial and Finance teams to gather requirements for reporting and system enhancements.
• Work collaboratively with Group IT and external partners to progress system-related initiatives.
• Manage competing priorities across scheduled finance activities and ad hoc support requests.
• Produce clear documentation, user guides and training materials for systems and processes.

Continuous Improvement & Capability Development

• Identify root causes of system, data and process issues and follow actions through to resolution.
• Continuously build knowledge of relevant applications, technologies, automation and AI capabilities.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities, including testing and review of solutions.
• Support a collaborative, customer-focused and continuous-improvement culture.

Skills for Success

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Information Systems, Mathematics or a related field is advantageous.
• Experience in finance systems, business systems, reporting or data analytics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including Power Query, Power Pivot, complex formulas, dynamic arrays and data modelling.
• Strong analytical, logical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and data.
• Experience supporting business users with systems or reporting tools.
• Ability to learn new applications and technologies quickly, with an interest in automation, AI tools and the Microsoft ecosystem.
• Strong attention to detail, stakeholder communication and customer-service skills.
• Ability to take ownership, prioritize competing work and collaborate effectively while also working independently when required.
• Experience with VBA/Excel macros, Microsoft Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL or Python is advantageous.
• Finance, accounting or month-end reporting experience is advantageous.
