Job summary

Tentacle Tech is seeking a Finance Specialist on a 6-month contract to support critical accounting operations and financial reporting. This role offers exposure to a fast-paced, process-driven finance environment and a chance to contribute to timely month-end and quarter-end reporting.

The position requires 3–5 years in general accounting, a degree in accounting/finance, strong Excel and SAP familiarity, and the ability to work independently in a hybrid setting within Malaysia.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in General Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or equivalent.
• Solid knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; SAP experience is an added advantage.
• Experience in a Shared Services environment or the Oil & Gas industry is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate and coordinate with process owners, functions, and business teams to ensure monthly and quarterly financials are prepared in accordance with US-GAAP
• Ensure adequate reporting controls are performed as required by internal control procedures, including posting manual journal entries where necessary
• Prepare assigned accounts in accordance with approved Account Write-Ups
• Track and complete assigned tasks in Recon Smart or other applications in a timely manner
• Perform other closing and reporting tasks as assigned by the team lead
• Detect and flag flaws in approaches, methods, procedures, and processes, and suggest improvements
• Communicate with colleagues and business stakeholders regarding data gathering and analysis
