Job summary

Fairview International School is seeking a Finance Specialist for Accounting Operations in KL to manage general accounting and apply enterprise standards across cycles. You will interpret SOPs and ensure monthly/quarterly closings meet internal controls and US-GAAP requirements.

Qualifications

• Years of experience: 3-5 years of experience in General Accounting and Financial Reporting.
• Field of experience: Accounting/Finance.
• Technical Skills: accounting principles, practices, procedures; MS Office, especially Excel.
• Soft Skills: detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Tools or Software: MS Office, SAP (added advantage).
• Education: Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance or equivalent.
• Industry background: Shared Services environment; Oil & Gas experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financials in accordance with US-GAAP.
• Ensure reporting controls and post manual journal entries as required by internal controls.
• Prepare assigned accounts per approved Account Write Up.
• Track and complete tasks in Recon smart or other applications.
• Handle closing and reporting tasks as assigned by team lead.
• Identify flaws in processes and suggest improvements.
• Communicate with colleagues and business units for data gathering and analysis.

Finance Specialist - Accounting Operations (KL)

Job Title:- Finance Specialist - Accounting Operations

Role Summary:-

As a Finance Specialist you will be responsible for general accounting and policy application & process administration for all cycles, and will be required to understand and interpret applicable Enterprise Standards, SOP and Process Maps to deliver globally competitive financial process/accounting services.

• Collaborate and coordinate with various process owners, functions and business team to ensure monthly and quarterly financials are prepared in accordance with US-GAAP.
• Ensure adequate reporting controls are performed as required by company's internal control procedures. This may require posting manual journal entries as necessary.
• Ensure assign accounts are prepared in accordance with approved Account Write Up for those accounts.
• Ensure tracking and timely completion of assign task in Recon smart or other applications.
• Perform other closing and reporting task as may assign by the team lead.
• Detects and signals flaws in approaches, methods, procedures and processes and suggests improvements.
• Handles communication with direct colleagues and the business about data gathering and analysis.

Essential Requirements of the role (Experience / Skills / Competencies):-

• Years of experience: 3-5 years of experience in General Accounting and Financial Reporting
• Field of experience: Accounting/Finance
• Technical Skills: (i) Have knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures, (ii) Be proficient in MS Office, with a focus on Excel
• Soft Skills: Have strong attention to detail and analytical skills; Be detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Tools or Software (Required): MS Office, SAP (added advantage)
• Education Qualifications: Have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
• Industry Background or Experience (Required): Shared Services environment and the Oil & Gas industry (added advantage)
