Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA or equivalent; MIA membership preferred.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of MFRS/MPERS, Malaysian taxation (SST, LHDN) and statutory requirements.
• Proficiency in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Proficient in accounting software and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations (AP/AR/GL).
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under MFRS/MPERS.
• Lead month-end and year-end closing with documented working papers.
• Coordinate with external auditors through the annual audit process.
• Drive annual budgeting and rolling forecasts with department heads.
• Analyze budget vs. actual variances and provide management commentary.
• Manage cash flow planning, working capital, and banking relations.
• Ensure tax compliance and internal controls are maintained.
• Develop and coach the finance team, conducting performance reviews.
