Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or equivalent finance leadership role, preferably within the retail sector.
- Familiarity with LS Retail, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC365), and SAP accounting systems would be highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to function as a trusted finance business partner, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support business objectives.
- Strong understanding of financial management and accounting practices, particularly within the Malaysian regulatory framework, including month-end financial closing, Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), General Ledger (GL), audit coordination, and tax compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial information into actionable business insights and recommendations.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills, capable of influencing decisions and building effective working relationships across all organizational levels.
- Highly detail-oriented with a strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and meeting deadlines.
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a proactive and hands-on approach.
- Willingness and flexibility to undertake occasional business travel as required.
Finance Operations & Financial Reporting
- Oversee daily finance operations across the Southeast Asia region, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Fixed Assets, and Treasury functions.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and management accounts preparation.
- Conduct financial analysis, prepare variance reports, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and evaluate business performance to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure adherence to group accounting policies, financial reporting standards, and local statutory and regulatory requirements.
Business Partnering & Performance Management
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the General Manager and cross-functional Retail SEA teams, including Sales, Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, and IT.
- Deliver actionable financial insights and recommendations to drive revenue growth, improve profitability, optimize inventory levels, and enhance cost efficiency.
- Leverage retail industry expertise and market intelligence to identify business opportunities and potential risks.
- Contribute to strategic planning initiatives, budgeting exercises, forecasting activities, and business expansion projects.
Treasury, Cash Flow & Working Capital Management
- Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning to ensure optimal financial resources are available for business operations.
- Oversee payment cycles, receivables collections, banking relationships, and treasury-related activities.
- Collaborate with Corporate Finance teams on funding requirements and treasury management matters.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Establish and maintain effective internal controls and governance frameworks to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Ensure full compliance with tax regulations, statutory obligations, corporate reporting standards, and other regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate external audits, tax submissions, transfer pricing activities, and statutory reporting processes.
- Proactively identify financial and operational risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Drive ERP implementation projects, system upgrades, and finance transformation initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Design and implement scalable finance processes and shared service structures that support business growth.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen efficiency, controls, and reporting capabilities.Partner closely with business stakeholders and IT teams to improve system integration, data accuracy, and process optimization.
