Job summary

Setia Awan Land Services Sdn Bhd, a leading Malaysian property developer, seeks a meticulous and strategic Finance Manager to lead daily accounting, finance operations, and a growing finance team. You will review transactions, oversee month-end and year-end closes, and present P&L performance to senior management.

Responsibilities include cash flow management, budgeting, forecasts, tax/payroll compliance, liaison with banks/auditors, and ad-hoc strategic projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least eight (8) years of finance experience, including three (3) years in a managerial capacity.
• Experience handling construction accounts and project reporting is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of tax regulations, accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Proficient in AutoCount and Microsoft Excel; Google Workspace is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex financial data for stakeholders; Mandarin a plus.

• Oversee SST filings and payroll statutory contributions; handle ad-hoc projects.

Job description

Our associate company specialises in furniture and interior fit-outs is looking for a highly meticulous and strategic Finance Manager to join us.

Responsibilities:

Leadership & Operations Management:

Oversee and lead daily accounting and finance operations, supervising and mentoring the finance team.

Review and approve day-to-day transactions, including payments, credit/debit notes, and sales invoicing.

Conduct performance appraisals and facilitate staff skills development and training.

Manage timely month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure accuracy.

Prepare management reports and present P&L performance to senior management.

Develop annual budgets, financial forecasts, and projections to support strategic decision-making.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management:

Manage overall cash flow, review daily bank balances, and allocate funds effectively for outgoing payments.

Oversee trade line utilization and guide the team in preparing and submitting BA, LC, BG, and TR.

Chair weekly AR collection meetings with the sales team to flag and resolve critical collection issues.

Compliance, Tax & Payroll:

Liaise closely with banks, auditors, the company secretary, and tax and government authorities.

Prepare tax returns, consult with the tax agent on compliance, and oversee SST filings.

Review month end payroll processing and ensure all statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB) are correctly executed.

Handle ad-hoc strategic projects as directed by the Managing Director.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

Possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, backed by at least eight (8) years of finance experience, including a minimum of three (3) years in a managerial capacity.

Experience handling construction accounts and project reporting is highly preferred.

Have strong technical knowledge of tax regulations, accounting standards, and financial reporting.

Proficient in AutoCount and Microsoft Excel, familiar with Google Workspace is an added advantage.

Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into simple, actionable terms for stakeholders. (Mandarin proficiency is an added advantage).

Highly meticulous, resourceful, and capable of working independently while fostering a collaborative team environment. Ability to start at short notice is a major plus.
