Job summary

MG FURNITURE SDN BHD is seeking a Finance Manager in Nibong Tebal, Penang to oversee financial accounting and reporting. You will ensure accurate records, comply with MFRS/IFRS, and provide timely insights for business decisions.

The role requires 5–7 years in financial accounting, preferably in manufacturing or distribution, with ACCA/CA/CPA or equivalent qualifications. Leadership and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACCA, CA, CPA or equivalent accounting qualification.
• Minimum 5-7 years' experience in financial accounting and reporting roles, preferably within manufacturing or distribution environments.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards (MFRS/IFRS) and financial reporting requirements in Malaysia.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial analysis tools.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Solid understanding of internal controls, audit procedures and risk management.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Leadership experience with the capability to train and develop junior accounting staff.
• Knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and statutory compliance requirements is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, reviewing and finalising financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Managing the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation processes.
• Overseeing month-end and year-end closing procedures, including accruals, adjustments and consolidations.
• Developing and maintaining financial accounting policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Analysing financial data and preparing detailed reports for management and stakeholders.
• Monitoring cash flow, budgets and financial performance against established targets.
• Ensuring compliance with tax regulations and liaising with external auditors on audit matters.
• Supervising and mentoring accounting staff to maintain high standards of financial reporting.
• Identifying opportunities for process improvements and implementing financial system enhancements.
• Preparing and presenting financial information to senior management and the board of directors.

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Manager to join our team on a full-time basis in Nibong Tebal, Penang. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial accounting and reporting functions for the organisation. The Finance Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards, and providing timely financial insights to support business decision-making. You will be at the heart of our financial operations, driving efficiency, accuracy, and strategic value through robust financial management and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Preparing, reviewing and finalising financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements
