Job summary

Randstad Malaysia is seeking a Finance professional to manage costings and FP&A for a manufacturing operation. The role focuses on standard costs, COGS variance, and tax compliance within a Malaysian entity.

You will lead budgeting cycles, CapEx ROI analyses, and intercompany transfer pricing documentation to ensure margins and compliance across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting required.
• Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA or MIA) advantageous.
• Minimum 4–5 years of finance experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Establish, review and maintain BOM standard costs, direct labor rates and overhead absorption rates.
• Drive month-end plant costing activities and perform variance analysis of DM, DL, scrap and overheads.
• Monitor raw material cost fluctuations to safeguard margins.
• Lead FP&A, budgeting and forecasting for the Malaysian entity.
• Build business cases and ROI/NPV analyses for CapEx and capacity expansion.
• Oversee corporate income tax calculations and indirect tax guidance; ensure local compliance.
• Coordinate intercompany transfer pricing documentation in line with OECD guidelines.

• Standard Cost Maintenance: Establish, review, and maintain Bill of Materials (BOM) standard costs, direct labor rates, and machine/overhead absorption rates for local manufacturing lines.
• Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) & Variance Analysis: Drive month-end plant costing activities. Perform granular variance analysis on Direct Material (DM), Direct Labor (DL), scrap, scrap recovery, yield losses, and manufacturing overheads.
• Raw Material Costing: Monitor, evaluate, and track raw material cost fluctuations (including plating metals like silver/gold, copper, and alloys) to safeguard plant operating margins.
• Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting (FP&A)
• Plant Operational Budgeting: Lead annual operating budget (AOP) and periodic forecasting cycles (quarterly/monthly) for the Malaysian operating entity.
• CapEx & Capacity Expansion FP&A: Build business cases, ROI models, and Payback/NPV analyses for capital expenditure projects, equipment additions, and facility expansions.
• Tax Management & Local Compliance
• Direct & Indirect Tax Oversight: Oversee Corporate Income Tax (CIT) calculations, monthly/quarterly tax estimates (Form CP204), and indirect tax (SST, Customs duties, and import exemptions) for the Malaysian entity.
• Transfer Pricing (TP): Coordinate intercompany transfer pricing documentation, ensuring plant mark-up models align with OECD and inland revenue (LHDN) guidelines.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent. Professional qualification (ACCA, CIMA, CPA, MIA member) is advantageous.
• Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of finance experience in a manufacturing environment (semiconductor, electronics, heavy assembly, or EMS industry background highly advantageous).
