Job summary

KOS International Talent Group is recruiting for a seasoned finance leader to oversee the financial management of its manufacturing operations in Malaysia. The role reports to plant management and HQ Head of Finance, delivering timely, accurate financial insights and ensuring statutory compliance.

Ideal candidates will have 10+ years in auditing and reporting within manufacturing/oil & gas contexts, CPA qualification, and proven business partnering capabilities to drive cost control and value

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance.
• CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in auditing, financial and managerial reporting; 3 years at managerial level; manufacturing/oil & gas/listed company/MNC reporting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor the plant’s finance team, overseeing daily finance matters (revenue recognition, costing, payments, GL).
• Review month-end reporting templates for consolidation notes and compliance.
• Prepare financial statements in line with GAAP or regulatory requirements.
• Collect, interpret and review financial information.
• Monitor production efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Act as main liaison for local and headquarters finance teams.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, production managers and other group companies.
• Prepare and monitor annual budgets and cashflow forecasts; participate in ad-hoc projects.

Our client is a well-established multinational manufacturing organization with a significant operational presence in Malaysia. As part of its continued growth and investment in operational excellence, the company is seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee the financial management of its manufacturing operations.

This position serves as a key leadership role within the Malaysia plant, ensuring the delivery of timely, accurate, and value-added financial insights to both local management and the headquarters finance team. The role is responsible for overseeing financial performance, managing statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, and supporting senior leadership with high-quality financial analysis and business partnering.

The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in a manufacturing, chemical, energy, oil & gas, or other process-driven industrial environment, coupled with a proven track record in plant finance, business partnering, and operational finance leadership.

About the Role

This role is report to the local plant management/Headquarter Head of Finance and its primary duties including, but are not limited to, the following:

• Manage and mentor the plant’s finance team, responsible and manage for all daily finance matters, such as revenue recognition, costing, payment, general ledger etc.
• Review of month end reporting template to facilitate consolidation notes disclosures for month-end reporting compliance.
• Preparation of financial statements and ensure the reports comply with relevant GAAP or applicable regulatory requirements.
• Collecting, interpreting and reviewing financial information.
• Monitor production efficiency and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Act as an important contact point for local and headquarters finance teams.
• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, production managers and other group companies’ team.
• Prepare and monitor annual budgets and financial/cashflow forecasts.Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and /or Finance
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA or equivalent)
• Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in auditing, financial and managerial reporting, 3 years at managerial level, experience in manufacturing sector/oil and gas industry/listed company/MNC reporting is preferred.
