Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Finance Leader to manage the full finance function for a new joint venture. You will oversee general ledger, AR/AP, cash flow, and closing, while preparing management reports and board papers.

You will drive internal controls, policy development, and budgeting, reporting to shareholders and the JV board. You will bring 5–8 years in finance with 2+ in a supervisory role, strong Malaysia accounting knowledge, ERP experience (SAP/Oracle), and a pragmatic, results-driven

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification (CPA/ACCA/CIMA) preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience, including 2+ years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysia accounting, taxation and financial regulations.
• Manufacturing experience and palm oil industry exposure is a plus.
• Hands-on with ERP/accounting systems (SAP/Oracle).
• Finance-IT collaboration and system implementation experience.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Able to work in a fast-paced JV/start-up environment.
• Be part of a new joint venture with strong backing from two parent companies.

Responsibilities

• Lead full spectrum of finance functions: GL, AR/AP, cash flow, month/year-end closing.
• Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, and variance analysis.
• Prepare board/exco papers as needed.
• Ensure compliance with MFRS/IFRS and local statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement financial policies, internal controls, and procedures.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.
• Manage commodity risks and oversee CAPEX for large projects.
• Collaborate with JV shareholders to align financials with strategy.
• Provide financial insights to support growth, investments, and cost control.
• Support feasibility studies, pricing, and project cost analysis.
• Partner with IT to design accounting systems, ERP, and reporting tools.
• Lead finance digitalization: automation, data integration, and process efficiency.
• Ensure data governance and cybersecurity for financial systems.
• Mentor accounting staff and build a capable finance team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the full spectrum of finance functions, including general ledger, AR/AP, cash flow, and month-end/year-end closing.
• Prepare and review monthly management reports, financial statements, and variance analysis for the JV board and shareholders.

• Well conversed with commodity risks and management of such risks.
• Have experience in handling big construction projects, including handling CAPEX orders and oversight.
• Work closely with JV shareholders to align financial performance with strategic goals.
• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business growth, investment, and cost optimization decisions.
• Support management in feasibility studies, pricing, and project cost analysis.
• Partner with the IT team to design and implement accounting systems, ERP, and reporting tools suited for the JV's operations.
• Lead finance digitalization initiatives, including automation of workflows, data integration, and process efficiency improvements.
• Ensure proper data governance, system controls, and cybersecurity measures for financial systems.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff to ensure timely and accurate financial operations.
• Build and develop a finance team capable of supporting both day-to-day operations and future growth.

About you

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Professional qualification (CPA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) preferred.
• Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards, taxation, and financial regulations in Malaysia.
• Experience in manufacturing operations, especially within the palm oil industry, will be an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with ERP or accounting systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Proven experience in system implementation or finance-IT collaboration is a strong advantage.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Proactive, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced JV/start-up environment.
