Job summary

SMT Technologies is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead financial operations across our Sungai Petani and Batu Kawan plants. The role requires a strong manufacturing background and strategic oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.

You will manage P&L, implement robust financial controls, and drive cost optimization while guiding a high-performance finance team. Willingness to travel between sites is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Strong experience in manufacturing.
• Proven ability to manage P&L, implement financial controls, and drive cost optimization.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Finance Manager to lead and oversee the financial operations in our organization. This role plays a key part in driving business growth, ensuring financial sustainability, and supporting strategic decision-making across our manufacturing facilities and subsidiary companies.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee all financial and accounting operations, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost management.

Provide financial insights and recommendations to support business strategies and improve profitability.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance requirements.

Manage cash flow, working capital, and investment planning.

Lead and develop the finance team to support continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Partner with cross-functional teams (Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, etc.) to support efficient and cost-effective decision-making.

Willing to travel between company sites and customers’ locations as required.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA preferred).

Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

Strong experience in manufacturing.

Proven ability to manage P&L, implement financial controls, and drive cost optimization.

Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

This position will be based at both our Sungai Petani and Batu Kawan plants. The successful candidate must be willing to travel and work between both locations as required.
