Job summary

Trust Recruit in Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Finance Leader to oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and accounting operations. You will ensure GAAP/IFRS compliance and provide insights to drive strategic decisions.

Responsibilities include managing AP/AR/GL, tax compliance, internal controls, audits, cash flow, and team development. A CPA/ACCA/CIMA background with 5+ years' leadership in finance is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required in Accounting or Finance; professional qualification preferred.
  • Preferred: CPA, ACCA, or CIMA.
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting and finance experience with managerial or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Construction industry experience is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, budgeting and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements in compliance with GAAP/IFRS, and provide financial insights to support business decision-making.
  • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business decisions.
  • Oversee daily accounting operations, including AP, AR, GL, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory requirements, including tax filings and liaison with tax advisors.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and statutory requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and enhance internal controls and financial processes to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial and operational risks.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and manage relationships with auditors and tax advisors.
  • Monitor cash flow, working capital, and funding requirements to ensure healthy liquidity.
  • Drive process improvements, system enhancements, and finance automation initiatives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to achieve operational excellence.

Requirements:


Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, ACCA, or equivalent professional qualification.


Preferred professional qualification: CPA, ACCA, or CIMA.


Minimum 5 years of accounting and finance experience with managerial or supervisory responsibilities.


Experience in Construction industry will be added advantage.


Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards, taxation, budgeting, and internal controls.


Proven leadership and team management experience.


Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.


Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.


Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
