Job summary

MBSB Bank Berhad is seeking a finance professional to manage end-to-end monthly management accounts and annual financial statements. You will coordinate with external auditors, fund providers, and internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

The role involves monitoring trial balances, preparing detailed variance analyses, and leading process improvements across statutory reporting and financial controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in an audit or finance function.
• Experience in statutory audit, banking/financial services is advantageous.
• ACCA qualification would be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of management accounting, statutory reporting, journal preparation, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and experience supervising teammates.
• Experience dealing with external auditors/regulators/government fund providers is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare monthly management accounts and annual financial statements.
• Monitor trial balances and respond to fund providers' information requests.
• Coordinate meetings with fund providers and provide financial information and reporting support.
• Review and prepare monthly journals and accruals, including management fee income.
• Prepare monthly e-invoices for management fee income in line with policies and regulations.
• Develop variance analyses for P&L and financial position with commentary on material movements.
• Reconcile loan/financing system to General Ledger and resolve discrepancies.
• Review intercompany matrix and related-party disclosures for compliance.
• Validate MIDF financing summary reports against underlying transactions.
• Lead financial control improvements and standardised reporting templates.
• Support internal stakeholders, auditors and external fund providers with data and analysis.
• Contribute to finance transformations, including MFRS 18 implementation and new schemes from GSF providers.
• Serve as a key contact for external auditors during statutory audits and coordinate audit documentation.
• Supervise and coordinate the Statutory Reporting team.
