MBSB Bank Berhad is seeking a finance professional to manage end-to-end monthly management accounts and annual financial statements. You will coordinate with external auditors, fund providers, and internal teams to ensure accurate reporting and compliance.

The role involves monitoring trial balances, preparing detailed variance analyses, and leading process improvements across statutory reporting and financial controls.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in an audit or finance function.
• Experience in statutory audit, banking/financial services is advantageous.
• ACCA qualification would be an added advantage.
• Strong understanding of management accounting, statutory reporting, journal preparation, reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel/Word).
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and experience supervising teammates.
• Experience dealing with external auditors/regulators/government fund providers is advantageous.

• Supervise and coordinate the Statutory Reporting team.

The role manages the end-to-end preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements. It also covers journal and disclosure reviews, external audit coordination, engagement with government fund providers, and the implementation of key finance transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and prepare monthly management accounts for MIDF Berhad, including the Development Finance Business and GSF.
• Monitor the GSF trial balance and address reporting queries or information requests from fund providers.
• Attend meetings with fund providers and provide financial information, clarification and reporting support.
• Review and prepare monthly schedules and journal entries, including private mandates and accruals for GSF management fee income.
• Review and prepare monthly e-invoices for management fee income in line with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare detailed variance analyses for Profit and Loss and Financial Position, including commentary on material movements.
• Perform monthly reconciliation between the loan and financing system and General Ledger, and resolve identified discrepancies.
• Review the monthly intercompany matrix and related-party disclosures for completeness and compliance with applicable financial reporting standards.
• Review MIDF financing summary reports and validate their alignment with underlying business transactions.
• Recommend and implement financial control improvements, including standardised reporting templates and process enhancements.
• Lead information requests, financial analysis and reporting support for internal stakeholders, auditors and external fund providers.
• Support strategic finance initiatives, including:
• implementation of MFRS 18, Presentation and Disclosure in Financial Statements; and
• new schemes introduced by GSF fund providers.
• Act as a key point of contact for external auditors during the annual statutory audits of MIDF Berhad and GSF financial statements.
• Coordinate audit documentation and ensure audit queries are resolved promptly.
• Supervise and monitor team members within the Statutory Reporting unit.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in an audit or finance function.
• Experience in statutory audit, particularly within banking or financial services, would be an added advantage.
• A professional accounting qualification, such as ACCA, would be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of management accounting, statutory reporting, journal preparation, financial reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Good written and spoken communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple functions and deliver accurate work within tight reporting deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership capability and experience supervising or coordinating team members.
• Experience dealing with external auditors, regulators, government fund providers or other external stakeholders would be advantageous.
