Finance & HR Executive: Accounts, Payroll & Compliance

Job summary

LEE, LIYU & CO. seeks a detail‑oriented Finance professional to manage end‑to‑end accounting, payroll, and compliance tasks in Ipoh, Malaysia. You will handle AP/AR/GL, bank reconciliations, month‑end close, cash flow forecasting and client/account ledgers, while liaising with auditors and tax agents.

You will also maintain payroll, statutory contributions, and HR submissions, support onboarding/offboarding, and ensure proper filing and audit trails for disbursements and billing recoveries.

Qualifications

• Handle full set of accounts (AP, AR, GL, bank reconciliation, journals, fixed asset register)
• Prepare monthly management accounts — Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement — and close within the agreed monthly deadline
• Prepare cash flow forecasts and monitor working capital; flag shortfalls early
• Maintain the firm's office account and client account records in accordance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules 1990, including client ledgers, monthly client account reconciliations and the annual Accountant's Report
• Liaise with external auditors and tax agents
• Monitor and submit SST filings and other statutory returns as applicable
• Process monthly payroll, including overtime, claims, allowances and deductions
• Prepare and submit statutory contributions — EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB/MTD and HRD Corp levy — within deadline
• Prepare Form E, EA Forms and other LHDN employer submissions
• Maintain employee records, leave and attendance records and employment documentation
• Assist with onboarding, confirmation, resignation and exit administration
• Prepare payment vouchers, payments and online banking instructions for the Partner's authorisation
• Verify supporting documents before payment and maintain proper filing and audit trail
• Monitor firm disbursements and billing recoveries

Responsibilities

• Process full accounting cycles including AP, AR, GL and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly management accounts and meet closing deadlines.
• Forecast cash flow and monitor working capital; flag shortfalls early.
• Maintain client and office accounts with reconciliations and Accountant's Report.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax agents for statutory compliance.
• Handle SST filings and other statutory returns.
• Administer payroll processing and statutory contributions.
• Prepare Form E, EA Forms and other HR submissions.
• Maintain employee records and onboarding/offboarding processes.
• Prepare payment vouchers and obtain Partner's approval for payments.
• Ensure documents supporting payments are filed and auditable.
• Track disbursements and billing recoveries.
